This is were I want to be (next)

This is La Rosiere, one of my favourite places in France. It was the first holiday with my boyfriend and his parents, I remember being quite nervous. I never skied or snowboard before and never spend that much time with my boyfriend’s family.

I loved the drive, all the 1200 kilometres. Nothing is cosier than a warm car, blankets and comfy clothing. Slept my way trough the first 1000 kilometres, waking up in a winter wonderland.

It now has a familiar feeling, the slowing down of the cars going up hill, filled with families, winter sport gear and luggage.

We had a big cottage near the slopes and what a lovely week it was. For the first time I enjoyed being cold. It’s just not as bad when you’re dressed like an Eskimo and keep snowboarding to stay warm.

Never ever have I had my muscles hurt like this first holiday. My legs, my arms and especially my ass felt completely mangled.

But, God what a feeling when you manage to go snowboarding downhill. All week I had dreams were I was flying over snowy mountains.|

It’s November now, and even though I’m hot and Happy in Sydney, the annual Winter sport itch has reached me!

Always on the run

Longing for something new, another environment, and a different language. I want to wear bailey button uggs to keep me feet warm, a black woolen vest to disappear in. When I wake up in the mornings I want to see a bright blue sky, see how my breath forms little clouds in the air.

I want to feel the freezing of my lungs, the frost in my mouth and warm my hands over a steaming cup of cocoa. I’d like to live in the mountains for a while. Either speaking French or German in la neige oder das schnee.

Take a ski-lift up to work instead of the usual train or subway. Dreaming of going places while you’re going places. What a way to spend/waste your time.

The sensation of freedom while you go almost to fast downhill freezing your butt of feeling extremely cool and cold.

Yes I would love to work/live and love in a mountain resort for a winter season.

And that is 3

3 days without nicotine and counting. Let's get (more) healthy.

My City (Down Under)

Life is good in Sydney. Today it’s extremely hot with temperatures reaching 37 degrees this afternoon. Mostly, it’s 26 degrees with a nice ocean breeze. People dress in a certain way, casual, yet different. Every weekend all the cafĂ©’s are packed with people. Going either out for pancakes for breakfast, salads for lunch or Sydney’s delicious seafood for dinner.

Coffee is for sissy’s in the motto of the popular BOOST a company that sells delicious fresh juices, smooties and banana bread. My favourite is Big Al’s a mixture of fresh watermelon, pineapple and orange.

In the weekend’s I sleep in and either walk to Bondi Beach or take the ferry, passing the opera house, botanic gardens and Sydney bridge to arrive at lovely manly beach.

Last week I took a week of holidays after spending nine weeks at Amnesty International Australia’s refugee team. It was good to not have my mind occupied with the stories of the refugees.

To have my own little worries on my mind instead of the burdens of the asylum seekers. To be on time for the plane, did I spend too much on taxis and to not hold my breath underwater.

I was in Cairns for a week and me and my boyfriend had a blast. It was 30 degrees everyday, we had so much ice-cream and pizza, almost as good as in Rome. On my birthday we became certified divers.

I want to build a little house on the Great Barrier Reef and live with the fish. So beautiful and the colours so vivid. It’s completely quiet down there until you hear a chewing noise and you see a turtle enjoying a meal of coral.

It’s even good to be back at work. Sydney is just so amazing and exciting. Tonight I’ll enjoy an after winner walk to Bondi Beach and a Boost. It’s gonna be hard to leave this City and I’m already halfway.

It's a wonderful life

Lykke Li - Everybody but me

And everybody's drinking
I don't want to
And everybody's using
I don't need more
And everybody's floating
I don't want to
Everybody but me

I get the creeps from all the people in here
I cannot breathe, it's too crowded in here

Don't look at me
I don't wanna be seen; touched; heard; bothered by the fellas who got a look in their eye

They wanna take me home without knowing my name
They wanna put me on

But do they not know..
is that I'm not like the others

The perfect day

Waking up to early for your liking makes your day so much longer. Have a hot tea to wake up over. Drive in a car, for 3 hours while slumbering, dozing of and listening to new great music.

Arrive on a camping site with beautiful green grass that looks so fresh, it makes you want to sleep on it. See a kangaroo in front of somebody’s tent. Feel the sun heating up your skin, smell the salty sea-air that reminds you of home.

Watch your boyfriend rocking it up on some waves. Try to rock yourself, fail miserably, but have so much fun while almost drowning. Have a bare foot run for 2 kilometres and cool of in the big waves of the ocean.

Take a hot shower. Get kissed under zillions of stars.

Eat a steak with mushroom, onions and some white bread. Fall asleep next to a big bonfire while listening to your new made friends.

For me, it does hardly get better than this.

Be Back Soon

Sadly, one of my favourite blogs disappeared from the web this week. I hope she’ll be back soon because I love to start my day at work with some casual, funny and witty blogs to read. I cannot even imagine how horrible it must be for her to have those people, reading her personal things. Keep your head up!

Celebration

The past 3 years my birthdays had something in common. TESTS. Not one, not two but actually three tests I had to do on my special day. I do not remember if I passed the tests, eventually I did but it’s a horrible way to spend your birthday. This year I’ll be doing a night-dive over the Great Barrier Reef. Things are definitely looking up!

ps: This is my 100th post
